Do you know how to play kick ball? Would you like to learn or be a kickball player? You are going to learn how to play kickball. First you will learn what equipment you need and what the rules are. You will also need to learn the strategies.
First you will learn about the equipments. You will need some kind of place like a baseball field to play. Then, you will need a bouncy ball so everyone can kick.
Next you will learn the rules of kickball. First you need to pick two even teams. Then somebody will need to get the ball. Next, you go to the field and the team captains will rock paper scissors or something like that to see what team gets to kick first. Once you decide who gets to kick first, the game starts. You will need the server to roll the ball to the player who is kicking. The other players who are going to kick soon will have to wait in line. The other team however will need to go on the bases and outfield so they can get the ball if the kicker kicks real hard.
Now its time to learn the strategies of kickball. One of my strategies is to look for someplace that is open and kick real hard so they won’t get it real easily. If you don’t kick very well I guess you will have to kick it to somebody who is slow.
So now you know how to play kickball. I can’t wait to play with you sometime. I know you’ll be a great player.

4-Kickball
Boom! The ball goes flying through the air, and the runner gets to the first base, second base, third base, and what do you know she makes it to home plate, and the outfielders still haven’t even got the ball! I’m going to teach you how to play kickball and the rules you need to know.
Here is what you need in order to play kickball. You need at least ten players. You can have more, but you have to have an even number of players. You also need a ball and four bases. The ball can be a bouncy ball or a soccer bull. My opinion is to use the bouncy ball because I think it’s easier to kick.
Once you have slit into two teams, then you have one team be the kickers and, the other team is in the outfield. The people in the outfield should spread out because the ball could go anywhere. You also need someone to be the pitcher. The kickers form a line, and one by one they kick the ball and run from the first base to home each time someone kicks the ball.
Finally, you need to know what happens when you get out and, how to get somebody out. When you kick the ball, the people in the outfield, and try to get the ball so they can tag you with it before you get to the first base. If you get there before they tag you you’re still in. But if they tag you before you get to the first base you’re out. If someone gets back to home base then you score a point for your team.

10 My brother
My brother is a really good brother. His name is Jose and he is 22 years old. Whenever I need help on something, I know I can always count on him. One time I came back from school I got my homework out and I didn’t know how to do it .Then I understood what it meant. He didn’t even care if he was doing something else .He’ll just help me .Then I gave the paper to him and if I had it wrong he’ll just correct me.
My brother is really caring and loving .I have another brother or sister ,I hope I’ll treat my sister or brother the same way that my brother treats me. I hope I can grow up just like him on day. Until now I know that I can count on him.

27 - The Best 4-square Player Ever!!
Courtni is the best 4-square player in the world. If she was playing 4-square and wanted to get someone out, she just needed to point her finger at them when the ball was in her square and the ball will automatically bomb 50 feet in the air!!
One day it was the official 4-square tournament in school. Courtni wanted to enter it, so she did. She needed to practice with somebody but, she didn’t have a brother or a sister. Suddenly Courtni thought of an idea. She went to her dad who was a scientist, and he built her a robot named Patty. Patty knew how to play 4-square too. She practiced day and night.
The next day she found out that Bill Bottomsbooth was in the tournament, and she got scared. Bill was ALWAYS in server square at recess. His plan was to poke a tiny hole in the ball, and on the day of the tournament, it would have been deflated and Courtni wouldn’t have been able to serve or hit the ball.
It was the day of the tournament, and Courtni was very nervous.
“Round 1!!”the judge yelled. Courtni held the ball and served it. The ball was deflated sp she hit her own square!!!
“Oh no!!! What happened?” said Courtni. Then she saw Bill laughing. Now she knew what was going on. She said,”I would like a replacement, that person will be Patty! My robot!”
“Courtni, are you sure?”said Patty in a robotic voice.
“Yes!! Of course I am! I mean you have an extra 4-square ball in your stomach right?”
“Yes, but-,”
“Come on!! Get that ball out and play!!” interrupted Courtni.
“Okay!! I won’t disappoint you!!” said Patty.
So Patty switched balls and ran to the court. She served the ball, Bill hit it back, and Patty did a twist but Bill made it! But, good thing fro Patty, Bill hit it just high enough so,…… BOOM!!! She did it!!! Patty bombed the ball so hard that it popped!!
“And the winner is….., “The team of Courtni and Patty Dailey!!!” announced the judge, Coach Katie.
“Great job Patty!!”
“Oh, it was no big deal, let’s go get some icecream to celebrate!!”said Patty holding up the 3 feet trophy.

Stephanie was the most beautiful person in the world that she owned every single hair salon, nail salon but, not every Payless store because she didn’t like that store. She also owned all of the Taco Bell’s and Arby’s.
Whenever someone looked at her they would faint because she was so pretty. Stephanie got personal makeup made for herself. If she ever looked someone in the eyes, they would become very beautiful but, not as pretty as her. Stephanie wore a new outfit every day. Whenever she threw one away everyone would scream and try to get it.
One day someone was jealous of Stephanie so they took a bucket of mud and threw it at her. Stephanie hurried the emergency room. She went to her hospital called Fame and Fashion hospital. At her hospital all the nurses wore cute sparkly pink dresses and 3 inch high hells. When she got there the doctors did surgery on her.
After every speck of mud was off her she quickly changed outfits and then, all the police went looking for the person who threw mud at her. When they found her they put her in prison for 25 years.

My Name is S L
I have experienced the wind ruffling the sails,
heeling in the water,
almost being able to touch the water,
sailing a boat on the open seas.
I imagine riding an electric bicycle,
zooming up hills without breaking a sweat,
the wind blowing through my hair,
paying only five cents to ride
miles and
miles and
miles.

2 - Basketball
2 –Basketball Math
Abdul was the best basketball player in the universe. All he has to o is burp and he made a perfectly good shot.
One day, Kobe Bryant challenged Abdul into a match. Who ever won would become the Most Valuable Player.
Abdul took that opportunity as a chance to be a M.V.P. So every day he practiced and practiced. A lot of people encouraged him.
Today was the day he had to face Kobe Bryant. He was very excited. The match was about to start.
The match started right now! Kobe got the ball and made a dunk on his face. Abdul got mad he made a lot of three pointers. Abdul couldn’t believe it He won! And that is how I became a M.V.P.

21 – Andrace, The World’s Best Soccer Player
21 – Andrace World’s Best Soccer Player
Andrace was the best soccer player in the whole world. All he has to do is blink twice, and the ball goes into the goal.
One day, Edwin challenged Andrace for the golden car. Then Andrace broke his kicking leg. The he broke his arm.
Andrace was in no shape to face Edwin and Edwin could tell just by looking at him. So one ay a kid named Alex came to help Andrace. First Andrace refused but then Alex inspired him.
After a few months of coaching Alex got Andrace back into shape. Then Andrace challenged Edwin for the golden car. Andrace started first. Andrace kicked the ball right towards the goal. Then Edwin jumped and caught the ball.
It was 16 to 14. Andrace just needed one more goal. Then Andrace blinked twice and woosh. Then the referee yelled “goal!” then Andrace hopped into the golden car and drove off into the sunset.

Tre is the best basketball player in his team. Tre is tall and he can dunk and jump shots and he is good at layups.
He is the team captain.
One day when Tre was sleeping and snoring, he fell from the bed and hit his two eyes he became blind. Usually when Tre blink two time the ball goes in the net. Now if he blink two times the ball wouldn’t go into the net because he doesn’t know where the ball is.
When I told the team Tre was blind, I said it was alright because Tre has black glass so he can see. They were sad because the championships were the next day and Tre was blind so they couldn’t win.
The game went on and I built a robot of Tre and when it blinked two times the ball goes into the net. Later on it was 29 to 29. We needed only one point to win. I made a mistake because I told robot Tre to blink two times when the ball was in the air. The ball got into the net. Tre won the game.

But his speed was just one tenth slower than Abdul. So he challenged Abdul to a challenge, who ever wins gets a trophy, a golden trophy. So they both prepared for the challenge, there were thousands of people sitting on the bleachers waiting for the challenge to start.
They were both on the line ready so the ref blew the whistle “peep!”. So they ran as fast as possible, then Abdul said the magic word. “Superspeed!”, then he vanished past Shawn Alexander to the finish line. Abdul won and got the trophy proudly. Shawn Alexander congradulated Abdul. Abdul is a super speeder.

6 - My Grandma
6 – My Grandma
My grandma, who’s name is Rae which is my middle name, is so good with animals. She can just look at them and they will do what she wants, especially cougars.
One day while we were on vacation out in the woods, my grandma decided to go for a walk. When she didn’t come back for a while we started to get worried. Then when I was playing outside I heard a rustling in the bushes. Then came out a cougar and on it’s back was grandma. She said, “How do you like your new pet”?
Next she told us the story of how the cougar was about to pounce on her when she asked it to be my pet and the cougar said yes.
So that’s how I got my cougar, and my Grandma is so amazing.

Abby is a good at soccer, but a girl wants to play with Abby.
Abby is the best soccer player ever, but she needed to focus on the goal.
One day the other soccer player asked Abby if she wanted to play against but Abby was afraid to loose, she wanted to win.
Abby said, “Ok, I am ready to play soccer”, but she focused at the goal and she shoot at the goal.
She won the golden key of the city.
Abby is a good at soccer, but a girl wants to play with Abby.
Abby is the best soccer player ever, but she needed to focus on the goal.
One day the other soccer player asked Abby if she wanted to play against but Abby was afraid to loose, she wanted to win.

One day when I was practicing at R an alien spaceship landed in the middle of the soccer field . An alien boy who was disguised as human boy so I ran. He herd that I was the best soccer player on Earth.
He had beaten all the other people on different planets . EARTH was the only one left so if he beat me he would be the best soccer player in the universe . So I couldn’t let that happen.
A few minuets later we have started the game he said, ”The first to 50 wins”. I had started off with ball but as soon as got to his goalie posts took it away, I REALIZED THAT I need to use speed to beat this guy.
Before I even got to him he had already made a goal.2 hours later it was a tie 49 to 49.I thought to myself who was going to make the last goal me or him.
I told myself ‘I have to win this. This was the biggest game of my life.’ I started off with some very fast moves , like the bicycle and the rainbow . I got past him but then he took the ball away from and started to copy my moves.
He passed me and started to run to my goal but I got mad and ran my full speed .I caught up with him so fast I made him look like a slug .I took the ball away and ran to his goalie post.

Sienna, a student in fith grade. Was the best speller in the world. All she has to do is say the word in her and she blurts it out or writes it down on a piece of paper.
One day there was a word in the national spelling bee nobody could spell and she said to her friend “I could spell that so easily”. Her friend said “you should go sign up for it” “Well that’s a great idea” Sienna said.
Sienna walked down to the national spelling bee and said to the judges that she wanted to be in the national spelling bee this year. She enrolled herself and a few minutes later the spelling bee started. She was all ready to spell and in the middle of the spelling bee the judges said that one word. She was so nervous, but she thought of the word and got it right!
She was so happy. Her family was happy and friends too. She said she would never forget that moment for the rest of her life and she didn’t forget.

My cousin is the best soccer player in Oregon. All he has to do is kick the ball and he’ll just make a goal.
One day he heard that there was a soccer game but they needed to make a lot of goals. He was really excited and signed up. The game was in two more days. He practiced all day. He drunk a whole gallon of water each day to get a lot of energy and strength.
Finally the ay has come. He was really excited. When they got out there was a lot of people there cheering for the team. Then they started playing and he made a goal and another and another one. Then it was only 1 minute left. He made one last goal. He won! Everyone cheered! He was so happy that he won! He was now the champion.

My Mom is the best teacher in the world. She used to live in Africa. She could also travel the world in 5 days. She can teach over 300 kids at a time. My mom can teach anyone or anything to speak English.
One day she taught 6 dogs, 12 cats, 3 parrots, and 26 hampsters to speak her language and English. On a Saturday she taught an alien to speak every language in the world. Then the alien took her in to space to teach his family and planet to speak English. It only took about 31 days.
Then mom taught me to speak Ghanian, alien, Dog, Cat, Parrot, and Hampster language. Wolf, wolf, meow.

They saw her and asked her if she wanted to take the challenge. She agreed and they got it planned for May 26th. May 26th arrived. Julie was nervous. Her teammates calmed, and she went out to the field. The team she was playing against were the Whispering Wasps. They laughed when Julie walked onto the field. But when Julie showed what she had, they stopped laughing. When Julie won the game, the other team was humiliated.
For beating a whole team by herself, Julie got a trophy and a record in the Book of World Records.

Stephanie was the most beautiful person in the world that she owned every single hair salon, nail salon but, not every Payless store because she didn’t like that store. She also owned all the Taco Bells and Arby’s.
Whenever someone looked at her they would faint because she is so pretty. Stephanie got personal makeup for herself. If she ever looked someone in the eyes, they would become very beautiful but, not as beautiful as her. Stephanie wore a new outfit everyday. Whenever she threw one away everyone would scream and try to get it.
One day someone was jealous of Stephanie so they took a bucket of mud and threw it at her. Stephanie hurried to the emergency room. She went to her hospital called Fame and Fashion hospital. At her hospital all the nurses wore cute sparkly pink dresses and 3 inch high heels. When she got there the doctors did surgery on her.
After every speck of mud was off her she quickly changed outfits and then, all the police went looking for the person who threw mud at her. When they found her they put her in prison for 25 years.

My brother Wyatt is so good at soccer. He can win a championship game. He plays all the time and wins every game. He is going to be in an championship game.

The championship game was on Thursday 2:00am. Wyatt and his team were getting ready for the game. Amon’s team was getting ready too. The couch blew the wistle. Amon’s team and Wyatts ran to kick the ball.

18 - Stephanie
Stephanie is a friendly ten-year-old. She gets good grades, is playful and is a good friend. During recess she likes to play 4-square. Stephanie is good and gets people out. When she gets out, she shrieks happily and gets back in line. Stephanie also has a good sense of humor. She can cheer you up when you are unhappy.
Stephanie is a great classmate. She helps me when I have problems. Sometimes when she has problems ,she calls me on the phone.
I am glad that she is my classmate. I think she will have a successful future.

4 – Stephanie
My friend Stephanie is a great person! She reads well, writes great stories, and is excellent in math. I was in her class in third grade, fourth grade and now she’s in my class and it’s fifth grade! I hope she’s in my class next year.
I have been to two of her birthday party’s, and they were very fun! We like to play four-square during recess. For the past two years we have been playing four-square. I want Stephanie to come to my house but we need to plan it. Stephanie is a great person, and I want to be her friend forever!

As school starts, I thought you would like to know a little about me. I was born in Washington State on an island that has a perimeter of about 1 mile. That is a small island! I have lived in three different houses on that island, and my family still lives there.
I went to college at Smith College in Massachusetts. Smith College is a women's college, which means that all of the students were female! My favorite two classes were calculus (math) and dance! I also spent a year attending a university in Ecuador. Did you know they speak Spanish in Ecuador? All of my classes were taught in Spanish. So if English is your second language, I really know what it is like to go to school in a different language.
My favorite things to do are garden, cook new recipes, and take hikes. I also love to play with my two children, Mateo and Natalia. My son Mateo is almost 4 years old and goes to a bilingual preschool. My daughter is 2 years old and stays at home while I work.
I am really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know more about you. I know we are going to have a great year together. Enjoy the rest of your summer vacations and I’ll see you in September.
We have an exciting school year ahead of us. I guarantee that you will learn a lot and have fun learning. Here are some exciting things we are going to do this year:
Math - We are going to have a great year with math. Many of you will get to use an online math program to learn math at your own pace, as well as play lots of math games.
Science - Science is so much fun in 5th grade. First, we will learn all about how you learn! Then, we get into outer space, decode messages that may or may not have been sent to us from extraterrestrials and create tour the universe. Then, we have a full 5 days at a science camp during the fall! And this is just the beginning . . .
Writing - In writing, you get to publish your own writing on this very blog. Then, at the end of the year, your blog will be turned into a published book. You will be a published author by the end of 5th grade. How fabulous is that?
Reading - In 5th grade we read, read and read so more. I love reading and know that you will love reading too. We read both short stories and full length novels, as you are ready.
Social Studies - You will learn all about the history of the United States. We use a program called History Alive, and as we go through time you will face some of the dilemmas your ancestors faced and make your own decisions while you learn about the decisions they made!

What is the most important thing you can do for your little sister, brother or cousin this year?
Read to them!
Remember, I read to my children every single day before they go to bed. It is the single most important gift you could give to your younger brother, sister or cousin.

Do you sometimes get stuck with homework questions? Do you sometimes get confused? If you have a library card, you can get tutoring for free at tutor.com. You do need to go through the link to get the free services!
Here is the link to the website for tutoring. You do need to enter in your library card number and your pin, which is normally the last four digits of your phone number.
